The work of Patrick Hough is concerned with the paradoxical overlapping of historical fact with cinematic and documentary representation. His work examines the way in which film and television delivers information and how its presentation can shape our understanding of reality.

He also attempts to raise questions regarding the boundaries between history and memory and how they become blurred through misinformation within various media forms.
